We are offering an exciting opportunity for the position of DC Manager Factories. In this position you will play a crucial role to support our vision of becoming a Great place to work for all.

Role Outline The DC Manager is responsible for the full operational, commercial, and financial performance of the Unilever BBG Siqalo inbound and outbound warehouse, ensuring efficient day-to-day, weekly, and monthly operations that consistently meet and exceed service and productivity targets. The role requires strong leadership to guide and develop the site management team, fostering high performance, employee engagement, and a culture of continuous improvement. The DC Manager manages and controls budgets, drives cost efficiency, and ensures profitability while meeting all contractual obligations.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and internal teams, is essential to delivering excellent service. The role also contributes to business strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and driving innovation within operations. A key focus is on maintaining compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards, while upholding high ethical standards.

In addition, the DC Manager champions employee development through training and succession planning and promotes a positive workplace culture aligned with DHL’s vision of being a great place to work.

Key Tasks/ Accountabilities

Delivery of key financial performance measures

  • Managing Operations within the budget as set by the Client

Meet and exceed operational service levels

  • Through the achievement of contractual Key Performance indicators.

Drive and develop team culture

  • Encourage and reward constructive internal competitiveness to the benefit of client, DHL and individual employees

Manage Human Resources

  • Through management team, ensuring appropriate levels of Human resources to meet business needs, performance issues, training and development, employee productivity and recruitment and retention of staff

Manage Relationships

  • Through operational managers manage relationship with Trade Union, conduct negotiations within budget levels maintain a healthy, positive relationship.

Compliance with statutory and company policies and procedures

  • Through Management team ensure compliance with statutory and company policies on:
  • Health and Safety
  • Employment Equity
  • Labor relations
  • Legislative
  • Environmental issues
  • Including regular monitoring to ensure these areas are maintained at a high level of compliance.

Professional Relationship

  • Through a principled, professional approach ensure and co-ordinate interaction with the client and customers to achieve maximum benefit to all.

Operational Return

  • Budget
  • Produce an annual budget in line with Company guidelines

Human Resources

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Ensure high level of competence in staff
  • Manage Industrial relations by ensuring that appropriate disciplinary actions is taken
