Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification (NQF level preferred)
  • Previous experience in Retail or Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry advantageous
  • Strong customer service orientation with ability to engage and advise customers effectively
  • Basic selling skills with the ability to identify customer needs and present appropriate products
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, at a clear and understandable level
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain merchandising standards and stock accuracy
  • Ability to manage stock efficiently, including stockroom and sales floor coordination
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills to understand and process sales information
  • Personal discipline regarding attendance, dress code, hygiene, and punctuality
  • Flexibility to work various shifts in a dynamic retail environment
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with product advice and solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Maintain on-the-floor stock availability by managing stockroom inventory and ensuring timely replenishment of the sales floor.
  • Apply effective selling skills to meet customer needs, present product options, and contribute to sales growth.
  • Ensure all merchandise is properly ticketed and displayed according to company merchandising standards, including gridding and rack alignment.
  • Adhere to shopkeeping disciplines by keeping the sales floor and back areas hygienic, safe, and well-organized.
  • Monitor and minimize stock loss through vigilant reporting of suspicious behavior, compliance with shrinkage policies, and use of EAS tagging where applicable.
  • Demonstrate personal leadership by maintaining discipline regarding attendance, dress code, hygiene, and punctuality.
  • Stay informed about new product lines, promotions, and fitting room policies to provide up-to-date advice to customers.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and follow daily operational plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members, maintaining professionalism at all times.
