Content Creator (On Camera)

Superside is looking for a Cape Town based Video Content Creator who is a content creator at heart, comfortable in front of camera, constantly watching ads, and genuinely excited by the challenge of making paid social videos that people want to stop and watch.

We’re looking for someone obsessed with new video ideas: the person who sees a Meta ad, a LinkedIn post or a weird Instagram Reel and immediately starts deconstructing why it works. What was the hook? Why did the first three seconds land? Was it the pacing, the caption style, the camera angle, the way the problem was framed? This role is for someone who naturally brings references, has ten rough ideas in the back pocket, and wants to test formats instead of waiting for a perfect brief.

This is NOT a traditional video editor role. We’re not looking for someone who only wants to sit behind Premiere Pro and polish footage after the creative thinking is done. We need a hands-on creator who can help find the idea, shape the hook, appear on camera, storyboard the concept, support the shoot, and edit the final piece into something that feels sharp and native to the feed.

You’ll work side by side with our Marketing Video Lead in Cape Town, tag-teaming concepts, shoots and edits in our dedicated studio and on location. You’ll also collaborate remotely with Superside’s wider creative team, sometimes owning projects from idea to final edit, and other times contributing to larger campaigns led by others.

Your main focus will be creating advertising and brand content for Superside, including UGC-style ads, skits, direct-to-camera videos, explainers, campaign content and quick creative experiments. You’ll also support other teams across marketing on a varied mix of projects when your creative, production or on-camera skills are needed.

What You'll Do

Create and appear in social-first video content

➔ Be one of the recurring faces of Superside’s paid ads and social videos, including UGC-style ads, direct-to-camera videos, skits, explainers, campaign content and quick creative experiments.

➔ Work closely with the Marketing Video Lead in Cape Town to shoot regularly in our studio, as well as outdoors or in simple location-based setups when the idea calls for it.

➔ Bring natural on-camera confidence, good creative instincts and a willingness to try different formats, tones and takes until the idea lands.

Research what works and turn it into ideas

➔ Watch and deconstruct paid social ads across Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, looking closely at hooks, pacing, captions, setups, creator styles and ad structures.

➔ Bring references into brainstorms and reviews, with a clear point of view on why something works and how Superside could adapt the thinking.

➔ Develop new ad concepts, write scripts, hooks, skit setups and repeatable content formats based on customer pain points, campaign messages and paid social patterns.

Shape, shoot and edit the work

➔ Use Figma or similar tools to create simple storyboards, frame references, shot lists and rough visual plans so ideas are easier to shoot and discuss.

➔ Use Premiere Pro to create clean, effective social video edits, with strong attention to pacing, captions, sound-off viewing, structure and clarity.

➔ Support lightweight production needs in the studio, including framing, props, basic lighting, audio setup and keeping shoots moving with alternate ideas or quick adjustments.

➔ Able to do meticulous quality checks to ensure final exports are correct and up to standard before they go out.

Use AI as part of the creative process

➔ Use AI tools to support concepting, scripting, visual references, effects, editing shortcuts, production experiments or ways to make videos feel more surprising and current.

➔ Stay curious about tools like ChatGPT, Claude,, Higgsfield, Krea, Seedance or similar, without treating AI as a replacement for taste, judgment and good ideas.

➔ Share useful AI workflows, references and experiments with the team so we keep improving how we make video content.

You care enough about B2B and SaaS to make the work feel specific, not generic. You've got the editing and sound design chops to work confidently in Premiere Pro, the visual sense to storyboard in Figma, and the curiosity to use AI to make the work sharper, faster and more unexpected.

What You'll Need To Succeed

➔ Based in Cape Town, South Africa, with the ability to work regularly from Superside’s dedicated video studio.

➔ 3+ years of experience as a content creator, social video creator, video editor, creative producer or similar hands-on role.

➔ A portfolio, social presence or content examples that clearly show you can appear on camera, perform naturally and create UGC-style videos, ads, creator content or social-first video.

➔ Strong comfort being in front of camera often, not occasionally. This role needs someone who can be a visible part of our ads and social content.

➔ Genuine interest in paid social, creator content, B2B marketing and what is currently performing in the feed.

➔ Great understanding of Meta ads, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and short-form video formats.

➔ Ability to spot strong hooks, write scripts, suggest concepts and turn references into usable ideas.

➔ Working knowledge of Premiere Pro, with enough editing & sound design skill to create tight, clear social videos in a very fast-paced environment.

➔ Comfortable using Figma or similar tools for simple storyboarding, visual planning and adding visual flair to your videos.

➔ Curious about AI tools and how they can be used in video content, social ads and creative production.

➔ Scrappy, resourceful and proactive, able to bring ideas without waiting for a perfect brief.

➔ Collaborative, low-ego and excited to work closely with video, creative, copy and growth teams.

➔ Experience working with performance marketers or paid social teams.

Nice To Haves

➔ Experience creating content for B2B, SaaS, agencies, creative services or marketing brands.

➔ Basic camera, lighting and audio setup experience.

➔ Basic motion graphics, After Effects or AI-assisted video workflow experience
