Commercial Driver - Goods Distribution

About the Role Our client, a well-established distributor of consumer goods, is seeking a dependable and experienced Commercial Driver to join their distribution team in Randburg, Gauteng . This role is vital for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of products to retail outlets and commercial clients throughout the region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to road safety, excellent navigation skills, and a professional demeanor. You will be responsible for operating a commercial vehicle, managing delivery schedules, and maintaining positive client relationships. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a commercial vehicle (e.g., rigid truck) for the delivery of goods to various business locations in Randburg, Gauteng and surrounding areas. Plan daily routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimize travel time. Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working order. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies. Ensure proper loading and unloading of goods, verifying order accuracy and package condition. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required. Provide courteous and professional service to clients during delivery interactions. Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or delivery discrepancies to management promptly. Requirements Valid Professional Driver's Permit (PDP) and appropriate commercial driver's license (e.g., Code 10) are mandatory. A clean driving record with no significant violations. Previous experience as a commercial driver or in a similar delivery role is preferred. Familiarity with the road network in Randburg, Gauteng and the wider Johannesburg metropolitan area. Ability to operate GPS navigation devices and basic delivery management tools. Physical capability to handle loading and unloading of goods.
