Position Overview
Level 2 Network Engineer will provide advanced operational support, configuration management, change implementation, and incident resolution for enterprise network environments. This role supports network stability, performance, security, and successful execution of approved changes across routing, switching, wireless, and WAN services utilizing Cisco products.Key Responsibilities
- Own and resolve escalated network incidents involving routing, switching, SDWAN, Riverbed WAN optimization, F5 LTM load balancing, and connectivity issues, including full root cause analysis
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, Riverbed WAN accelerators, F5 LTM load balancers, and core network services
- Perform deep technical analysis using logs, packet captures, interface statistics, routing tables, and telemetry to diagnose complex issues
- Plan and implement network changes during scheduled maintenance windows, upgrades, patching, and device replacements across various platforms with clear understanding of impact and risk
- Participate in incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis activities
- Validate and troubleshoot redundancy, failover behavior (HSRP, BGP, EIGRP, SDWAN, F5 HA), routing stability, and application traffic flow after changes or incidents
- Provide technical guidance to Level 1 engineers across Cisco, Riverbed, and F5 troubleshooting and continuously improve runbooks
- Collaborate with security, server, cloud, application, and carrier/vendor teams to resolve complex issues
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals including routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, protocols such as DNS, DHCP, NAT, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP, VLANs
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, WAN circuits, VPN connectivity, Riverbed WAN accelerators, and F5 LTM load balancers, with CCNP-level knowledge
- Advanced packet analysis and log interpretation skills with ability to troubleshoot multi-layer issues and validate protocol behavior in complex environment
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, ticketing, and configuration management tools, with ability to correlate data and independently drive incident resolution
- Ability to independently plan, execute, and validate network changes, assess risk and impact, and produce clear technical documentation including root cause analysis and resolution details
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP Enterprise or equivalent experience
- Experience with network automation, scripting, or configuration templates (optional)
- Change management and maintenance window experience
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, cloud networking, or network security concepts
