Casual Cashier - Linton Corner

OverviewDis-Chem Pharmacies is actively seeking dedicated Cashiers (POS) to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a world-class shopping experience for our customers. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for accurately recording customer transactions using the Dis-Chem operating system while adhering to company policies and standard operating procedures. Our goal is to maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards inaccuracies and fraud risk.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport customer service by establishing professional relationships with customers.Record all customer transactions accurately on the Dis-Chem operating system.Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor OR store management.Adhere to the customer turnover hourly rate and be aware of current sales and promotions.Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risk during transactions.Implement Dis-Chem's 5-star communication principles in all interactions.Manage cash flow effectively, ensuring all line voids and price changes are approved by a supervisor.Process all forms of payments accepted by Dis-Chem, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, and coupons.Handle loyalty card transactions for accelerator partners such as Discovery Health Care and ABSA Rewards.Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe according to Dis-Chem's SOPs.Maintain confidentiality regarding daily takings and discuss only with management.Recognize and report suspicious behavior to management promptly.Salary & BenefitsThe remuneration for this position is market-related. Attention to detail, accuracy, emotional intelligence, social awareness, accountability, problem-solving abilities, trustworthiness, honesty, and excellent time management skills are critical attributes we seek. Additionally, candidates who can communicate effectively in a third additional language will have an advantage in this role but IT is not mandatory.Other Relevant InformationThis position requires candidates who are South African citizens with clear credit and criminal records.
