What Youll Do:

BikesOnline an Australian e-commerce business specialising in bicycles and related products is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented offshore Bookkeeper based in the Philippines to support our Australian Accounting team with data entry transaction processing and ledger updates.This role requires accuracy attention to detail strong bookkeeping skills and a high level of integrity. Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Bookkeeper plays a key role in maintaining precise financial records. Responsibilities include but not limited to:


Accounts Payable

  • Review code and process supplier invoices accurately to the appropriate general ledger accounts business units and GST classifications
  • Ensure timely payment of approved invoices in line with agreed payment terms
  • Allocate payments and reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
  • Process approved customer refunds in coordination with the Customer Service team
  • Respond to internal and external payment queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation for all accounts payable transactions


Bank & Account Reconciliation

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed monthly


General Ledger & Reporting

  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Assist with month-end close activities
  • Support preparation of financial reports as required
  • Support audit and taxation requirements as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies GST requirements and internal controls
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial accuracy
  • Support audit and taxation requirements as needed


Process Improvement & AI Utilization

  • Identify and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
  • Experiment with AI features to discover new methods for completing work more efficiently and effectively
  • Support or lead various projects


What Youll Have:

  • Qualification in Accounting Finance or a related field (Diploma or Bachelors degree preferred)
  • Xero Certification or similar credentials beneficial
  • 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience ideally within e-commerce or retail
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Xero QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience preparing and reconciling accounts payableand bank transactions
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the finance team
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and inventory accounting is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organised in a remote work environment
  • Professional ethical and collaborative approach
