About the Role
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director to join their Head Office in Polokwane, Limpopo. This crucial role focuses on coordinating the implementation of oversight activities at the district level, ensuring that SAPS adheres to recommendations for improvement. By monitoring these implementations, the Assistant Director plays a vital part in enhancing the effectiveness of police services within the community. What You’ll Do- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of SAPS oversight activities at the district level.
- Monitor the execution of oversight recommendations and assess their effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Supervise the management of human and physical resources, ensuring optimal performance.
- Ensure accurate data management and reporting for informed decision-making.
- A National Senior Certificate or equivalent, along with an appropriate undergraduate qualification (NQF 6) in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Development Studies, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience at a supervisory level in a related field.
- A valid Driver’s Licence (not required for individuals with disabilities).
- Strong competencies in people and financial management, problem-solving, planning and organizing, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in advanced computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- A solid understanding of legislation, policies, and governance principles relevant to public service and the SAPS.
