JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established regional customer portfolio while developing new business across a defined territory.

Working as the Area Sales Manager, you will promote a premium interior solutions product range to furniture manufacturers and users of decorative melamine boards, primarily within the KBB sector.

As the Area Sales Manager, you will spend part of your time managing existing accounts, with the majority of your focus on identifying, prospecting and developing new business opportunities.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Area Sales Manager include:

  • Manage Customer Accounts: Maintain and develop an established customer portfolio across North East England and Scotland
  • Develop New Business: Identify, prospect and convert new sales opportunities within the interior furniture components market
  • Promote Product Solutions: Present premium edgeband, acrylic surfaces and tambour storage systems based on quality, benefits and technical features
  • Build Customer Relationships: Develop strong working relationships with furniture manufacturers, SMEs, distributors and users of decorative boards
  • Use CRM Systems: Record customer activity, competitor insight, sales opportunities and follow-up actions accurately
  • Monitor Market Trends: Keep up to date with market developments, customer requirements and competitor activity
  • Support Sales Planning: Work with strategic sales plans to grow territory performance and maximise business opportunities
  • Represent the Organisation: Act as a professional field-based representative for the interior solutions division

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Proven sales experience within the interior furniture components industry
  • Strong market knowledge of decorative boards and associated distribution channels
  • Experience selling premium products to SMEs
  • Confident presenting product quality, benefits and technical features
  • Strong relationship-building skills with regular customer-facing sales experience
  • Comfortable working with strategic sales plans, CRM systems and sales pipelines
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and results-focused
  • Able to work independently in a field-based regional role
  • Established network of relevant industry contacts
  • Must reside within North East England or Scotland

DESIRABLE

  • Experience manufacturing, selling or distributing edgeband products
  • Knowledge of machinery used to process edgeband and decorative boards
  • Background in a similar role with a decorative board, edgeband or machinery manufacturer
