A respected and well-established organisation is looking for a proactive Accountant to join their team in Johannesburg South. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function while working closely with operational stakeholders to support business objectives and enhance financial performance.
 
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting, maintaining compliance, and providing meaningful financial insights to support decision-making. Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full finance function for the site.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support operational teams with financial reporting and administration.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
 
Job Experience and Skills Required:
  • BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related qualification.
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting role.
  • Proven experience managing the full finance function.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience within manufacturing, mining, construction, or other operational environments will be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
